Native Farmer Training Program
As part of Sustainable Nations' inclusion of food security in our vision for bioregionally sovereign Native Nations, we are initiating a Native Farmer Training Program! This training program will be based around the creation of a local Community Supported Agriculture Farm. This farm will be developed organically and based on permacultural principles, using open-pollinated and heirloom seed stock, efficient water systems, dry farming, and integrated pest management. We are using this farm as a base to invite local people to share their knowledge, to involve youth through farm play days and harvest parties, and to host workshops on composting toilets, food preserving, seed saving, medicinal and edible wild plants, and more!
